It’s the only daytime lunch scene that can give Nikki Beach a run for its money. Located at Tom Beach Hotel, a 4-star boutique hotel begging to be remodeled, this beachfront bar and eatery sprawls along a sandy floor dining room and large deck with rum bar and lounge seating. The décor shows of wild times and years of sitting in the sun, once bright pink and yellow colors on wooden tables and plantation-style chairs have faded. Yearly highlights include an array of theme parties throughout December and January high season when tables are cleared and buxomly ladies take to the rickety tabletops for a midnight dance.

The Food

Created by island icon Thierry de Bradereau, the restaurant serves a native beach club menu that changes throughout the season. The kitchen is known for its fresh seafood specialties usually prefaced by an oversize avocado or Caesar salad and hefty plate of pasta. Fish and shrimp specialties are grilled on the in-house barbecue, where guests can gather and watch the chef baste and flip fireside if requested. Portions are served family-style and also priced accordingly.

Last Word

Great for lunch, the restaurant is actually even better on a late night in high season when it hosts periodic theme parties with quirky theme like Film Noir, Baywatch and Santa Baby. And the French take their theme seriously; Santa actually rolls up on a jet ski at 12am Christmas morning.
